Arthur W. Vasbinder Jr. 88, of East Brady died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born August 1, 1929 in East Brady, he was the son of Arthur W. and Maxine F. (Murphy) Vasbinder.

On June 28, 1952, Art married the former Josephine A. Andreassi.  She survives.

Art was a 1947 graduate of East Brady High School and later joined the US Army.  He worked at RexHide in East Brady for 4 years and then for the Social Security Administration for 30 years.  After his retirement, he tended bar at the Bachelors II for many years.

He was a member of the East Brady Quarterback Club and the East Brady Fire Department.  He once enjoyed playing softball, basketball and golf.  You could always find him cheering on Jim Kelly’s Buffalo Bills and he loved watching his kids and grandkids at their sporting events. 

He is survived by his wife Josephine Vasbinder of East Brady. 2 daughters; Peggy (David) Lambert of Forestville and Julie Barr of East Brady, 3 sons; Arthur (Connie Breese) Vasbinder III of East Brady, Michael (Amy) Vasbinder of East Brady, and David (Shelley) Vasbinder of Mars. 

Art is also survived by 9 grandchildren; David Jr. Autumn, Jonathan, Jimmy, Jenny, Justin, Owen, Hayden, Camryn; 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter; Carol Bresso, 1 grandson; Nathan Lambert and 1 brother; Alton “Bud” Vasbinder.

Services for Arthur W. Vasbinder Jr. will be private.
