James Eugene Picard passed on to the Lord, July 26, 2016 in East Brady, PA with loved ones near, in his home he lovingly called Lynwood. 

Jim was born on December 25, 1928, the only son of Eugene A. and Margaret Ellen (Queen) Picard. 

Jim loved to travel and made life-long friends in many countries. He enjoyed talking about his travel adventures and was a great story teller with lots of humor. Jim was also known by his family as the “keeper of the family history”. Many stories he lovingly passed down to his nieces and nephew.

His family will miss dear Uncle Jim and feel blessed that he was part of their lives. They are so appreciative and grateful for all the love, kindness and support that was given to Jim by his dear friends and family in East Brady, PA. and Palm City, FL

Jim is survived by 3 nieces, Jane Louise Pursell Crowley, Pamela Sue Pursell Demmin and Karen Ann Pursell Robinson and one nephew Jacob Randolph (Bud) Pursell, and several great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene A. and Margaret E. Picard and his only sibling, Mary Jane Picard Pursell, and his partner of 26 years, David M. Barron

A graveside service will be held at 11AM Wednesday August 10, 2016 in Bradys Bend Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Eichler officiating. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., East Brady, PA.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local animal shelter. Jim loved rescued animals and adopted many “pussers” during his life.
