John A. Andreassi, 90, of East Brady died Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home.
Born March 27, 1928 in Bradys Bend he was the son of Achille and Clelia (Notareschi) Andreassi.
On July 12, 1958, John married the former Mary T. Stanley, she survives.
A US Navy Veteran, John served on the USS Nipmuc ATF 157 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class. He was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. John also served in the US Naval Reserves during the Korean Conflict. He was member of the American Legion Post #488 in Bradys Bend.
John worked as a mechanic for Anderson Chevrolet in East Brady for 17 years then Witco Chemical in Karns City and retired after 26 ½ years of service. He also owned and operated oil wells for 65 years.
John was a faithful member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church and a member of the Bradys Bend SOI.
Surviving is his wife Mary Andreassi of East Brady, 1 son; Thomas Andreassi of Kittanning, and 3 daughters; Ann Marie (John) Olszak of East Brady, Jeanie (Jack) Strauser of Seminole, FL, and Barb (Rich) Werner of Allison Park. 12 Grandchildren; Maura (Zachariah Hollingshad) Andreassi, Christina Andreassi, Adrienne (Andrew) Harmon, Evan (Taylor) Olszak, Emily (Chris Harmon) Olszak, David Olszak, Stephanie (Anwar Khalil) Strauser, Jack (Krysten) Strauser, Benjamin Werner, Joel Werner, Jenna Werner and Anthony Werner.
John is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren; Gretta, Payton, Eden, Rylan and Amira, 1 sister; Lena Hillwig of East Brady, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, John B. and Adolph Andreassi
Friends of John A. Andreassi will be received 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM Friday, May 18, 2018 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028
A Parish Prayer Service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3:00 PM.
An American Legion Service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 6:00 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 19, 2018 at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady with Rev. William Kuba officiating.
Committal, Military Honors and Burial will follow in St. Eusebius Cemetery.
In Lieu of Flowers, the Andreassi Family asks the donations be made to St. Eusebius Cemetery 302 East 2nd Street East Brady, PA 16028.
