Joseph Stimac Obituary

Joseph M. Stimac, 87 of Bradys Bend died Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his home.

Born January 20, 1931 in Roseville, he was the son of Anton and Karolina (Kovacic) Stimac.

He served in the US Army for two years as a Corporal stationed in Alaska.

Joe was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend.

Joe worked all his adult life, 67 years, for the now called “Dewey Family Trust,” then called Dewey Estate and Dewey Gas Company.  The love and respect he had for the three generations of Dewey’s; Edward R., Edward S., and Elizabeth Levey Dewey was unparalleled.

Joe also worked for National Fuel supply for 21 years while still working for the Dewey’s, retiring in 1999.  After, he worked for Seneca Resources, Kaylor Gas and Benny Landers Oil and Gas.

Joe loved spending time on “the Hill.” He will be remembered for writing the story of his life in a book titled “The Man on the Hill.”  He also enjoyed his wife Jennie’s cooking, especially her cheese strudel and always enjoyed trips to Cleveland to visit his mother.  The time spent with his children, grandchildren and the enjoyment he received from being their father and grandfather was his proudest achievement.  His love for them is eternal.

The untimely death of his son Carl was the most difficult tragedy to overcome.  There wasn’t a day Joe did not shed a tear over his loss.  Joe always thought of his family first, a man who worked all his life for those he loved dearly.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Jennie Stimac of Bradys Bend; two daughters, Desiree Stimac of Pittsburgh and Laura (Bill) Reddinger of Bradys Bend, three sons; Joseph Stimac Jr. of Chicora, Michael (Chris) Stimac of East Brady and Matthew (Jill) Stimac of Bradys Bend.

He also survived by 5 grandsons; Michael (Felicia) Stimac, Anthony Stimac, Matthew (Kiersten) Stimac, Joshua (Chelsy) Stimac, Adam Reddinger, 2 Great Grandsons; Jack and Will Stimac, 4 Great Granddaughters; Lucy, Lola, Cecelia and Charlize Stimac, 2 brothers; John Stimac and Edward (Joyce) Stimac and 2 sisters; Ann Konig and Diana (Ray) Vidrick.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his son Carl, 4 brothers; Tony, Tom, Victor and his twin, George, and 4 sisters; Caroline, Dorothy, Helen and Mitzie.
