Andrew J. Alwine, 94 of Cabot, PA died July 22, 2012 at the Shelbourne Personal Care, Penn Township, Butler County.

Born January 25, 1918 in Summit Township, Butler County, he was the son of Christopher N. and Mary M. (Zitzman) Alwine. 

A United States Army Veteran, he served during World War II as a Corporal with the 68th Armored Infantry Battalion.  He campaigned as an Antitank Gun Crewman in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe.  He was the recipient of the European African Eastern Service Medal with 5 Bronze Stars. 

On July 1, 1960, he married Elizabeth M. (Infantino) Alwine. 
Andrew was employed by Allegheny Ludlum in Brackenridge for 30 years. 
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman PA. 

Andrew had numerous hobbies including woodcarving and playing the Button Box accordion.  He enjoyed polka music and was an avid hunter.   

He is survived by 1 Brother Robert Alwine of Natrona Heights and 2 Sisters, Amelia Bungar of Slippery Rock and Martha Fair of Butler. 
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth who died July 8, 1996, and 8 Brothers. 

Friends of Andrew J. Alwine will be received 2-4, 6-8pm Tuesday July 24, 2012 at the Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home 105 4th Street East Brady, PA 16028
A Parish Prayer Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 3:30 Tuesday. 
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Wednesday July 25, 2012 at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady with the Rev. William Kuba officiating. 
Private burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Bradys Bend.
