David Gene Miles

David Gene Miles, 92, of East Brady died peacefully at his home, Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Born February 12, 1929 in Meadville, he was the son of Samuel R. and Fannie D. (Sherman) Miles.

On February 17, 1951, Gene married the former Violet “Joan” Crawford.  She preceded him in death in 2012.

A US Army Veteran, Gene served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, the Combat Infantryman Badge and the Purple Heart for wounds he received in action in the Republic of Korea.

Gene spent his career at Witco Chemical in Karns City, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of the East Brady United Methodist Church where he took care of the grounds for many years. 

He enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, watching Steeler Football and for many years, coached youth football in East Brady.

Gene is survived by his three children, Tim and wife Jeanne Miles of East Brady; Amy and husband Rick Snyder of Cape Neddick, ME, Drew and wife Betty Miles of Bullard, TX.

He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren (2 on the way) and several nieces and nephews.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son David Miles and his twin brother, Glen.

The Miles family would like to thank their special friend and neighbor, John Eck, for the care of Gene over the past 18 months. 

Funeral services for David Gene Miles will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the East Brady United Methodist Church with Rev. Craig Peterson and Speaker Tom McElravy officiating. 

Burial in Bradys Bend Cemetery will be private. 

Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home, East Brady, PA.
