Frederick Hunter Obituary

Frederick J. Hunter, 71, of Karns City (Perry Twp.) died March 6, 2023 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 25, 1951 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of John A. and Alyce L. (Switzer) Hunter.

Fred was a Riverboat Captain for over 30 years and a member of the Operators Union.

He was a member of the Freemasons and enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing and watching the river go by.

He is survived by his wife Teresa Hunter of Karns City, one son; John A. Hunter and wife Heather of Canonsburg, three grandsons; Jack, Ian and Wesley Hunter all of Canonsburg. He is also survived by one brother, John A. Hunter of Delaware.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no services for Frederick J. Hunter.

Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. East Brady, PA.
