Gary W. Brothers, 70, of Butler died Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at his home.
Born June 17, 1953 in Indianola, Gary was the son of Henry C. and Velma R. (Miller) Brothers.
A Vietnam veteran, Gary served his country in the US Marine Corp, Army and Navy. He continued a life of service by volunteering his time with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
Gary was a member of the Butler American Legion Post 117 and the Vandergrift American Legion Post 114. He loved playing music, writing music, loved being with his family and will be remembered as the “Fun Uncle.”
Gary is survived by two sisters, Mabel “Kitty” Soltys (Andy) of Lower Burrell, Gloria Brothers of Slippery Rock and one brother, Harry Brothers of Leechburg.
He is also survived by a large extended family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, Joseph, Nelson and one sister, Shirley Meola.
No services will be held at this time. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., East Brady.
