Henry A. Bratkovich

December 21, 1921 ~ December 28, 2011 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Henry A. Bratkovich, 90, of the Chicora Medical Center, formerly of Kaylor, PA; died Wednesday December 28, 2011 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. 

Born December 21, 1921, he was the Son of Joseph and Theresa (Lozar) Bratkovich. 
Henry was the husband of the late Frances L. (Collela) Bratkovich whom he married June 18, 1949.
 
A 1941 Graduate of Karns City High School, Henry enjoyed hunting, gardening and had a great love for Baseball.  He was the former manager of the Bradys Bend Little League, the Chicora Pony League and the Chicora American Legion Baseball teams.
 
Henry was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp. and served in Trinidad.  He was the recipient of the Honorable Service Lapel Button and the Honorable Discharge Button. 

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend.  Henry was one of the first Lectors, a Eucharistic Minister, Usher, member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Diocesan Expansion Captain and the Past President of the Parish Council. 

Henry was a member of the American Legion Post #488 in Bradys Bend for 65 consecutive years. 

Surviving are 2 Sons, Stephen M. Bratkovich and wife Janet of St. Paul, MN.  and Alan A. Bratkovich and wife Karen of Libby, MT. 
1 Sister. Rose Schumacher of East Brady. 
3 Granddaughters, Holly, Amy and Emily Bratkovich.

Henry is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his Parents, wife Frances who died May 15, 2006, 4 Brothers and 4 Sisters. 

Friends will be received 2-4, 7-9pm Friday December 30, 2011 at the Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home 105 4th Street East Brady, PA 16028
A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 3:30pm Friday. 
The American Legion Post #488 will conduct a Veterans Service 7:00pm in the Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30am Saturday December 31, 2011 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with Rev. William Kuba, Pastor St. Eusebius Church, East Brady.

Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bradys Bend, where American Legion Post #488 will conduct Military Honors.
