Kathryn M "Kassie" Eck, 96 of Butler PA, formerly of Phillipston and East Brady died Monday January 27, 2014 at Sunnyview Nursing Home. 



Born May 3, 1917 in Parker, PA, she was the daughter of Harry C. and Kathryn M. (Weckerly) Gates. 



On February 12, 1943 she married Joseph "Wally" Eck.  He preceded her in death on April 10, 1986. 



Kassie was a member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church in East Brady.  She also enjoyed word search puzzles. 



Kassie proudly raised 2 girls, Fanny Miller who preceded her in death and Nancy (Gates) McClaine of Maple Heights OH.  She is also survived by Fred McClaine and wife Rita of Meridian whom she affectionately called her son.  3 Grandchildren August McClaine of Ft. Mill, SC., Brandan McClaine and wife Lora of  Broadview Heights, OH., and Justine McClaine of Washington DC.  and 2 Great Grandchildren Jonah McClaine and Mari McClaine. 



Kassie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers and 1 sister. 



Friends of Kathryn M. "Kassie" Eck will be received 4-8pm Friday January 31, 2014 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way East Brady, PA 16028


A parish prayer service will be held at 4:15pm Friday in the Funeral Home.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am Saturday February 1, 2014 at St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, East Brady with the Rev. William Kuba celebrating. 



Private Burial in St. Eusebius Cemetery will follow.
