Lois Irene (Van Dyke) Cochrane, 95, of East Brady, PA, went home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2025, following a brief illness.
Lois was born March 14, 1929, in Kaylor, Pa., to Jacob L. and Edna (Robbins) Van Dyke. Lois had fond memories of her childhood in Brady’s Bend, PA. She later moved with her family to East Brady, where she was a 1947 graduate of East Brady High School. She married her husband, Harry W. Cochrane, on May 8, 1948.
Lois was a member of East Brady United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years, and was active in the United Methodist Women.
A devoted homemaker, Lois enjoyed cooking, baking and was known for her delicious pies and homemade buns. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, music, and especially dancing. Lois could be found most Friday nights at the Donegal Grange, dancing and enjoying the music with her friends. Her family will always treasure their memories of her fun-loving spirit, strong Christian faith, and unwavering love and support for each of them.
Lois is survived by her three children, Sherri (Kenneth) Greer, of East Brady; Van (Laurie) Cochrane, of Cincinnati, Ohio; and Vikki (Lloyd) Peck, of Poland, Ohio; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Nancy (Cochrane) Wolfe of Treasure Lake, Pa., who lived with Lois and Harry during her teen years; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters; a brother; and her precious great-granddaughter, Jade Nicole.
Friends of Lois I. Cochrane will be received from 6:00-8:00 Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, March 14, 2025 in the funeral home with Lois’ son, Rev. Van Cochrane officiating.
Burial will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery.
