Margaret Aldine (Deanie) Hile Lipinski, 84, of East Brady died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Newhaven Court at Clearview in Butler, where she lived for two years.
Deanie was born to Warren J. and Thressa (Rettig) Hile on September 12, 1930. Deanie, her parents, and all her grandparents were born, lived, and died in East Brady or nearby. Deanie was the youngest of her siblings, and the last to die. Her siblings were: Merrill (Butt) Hile, Agnes McLaughlin, Francis (Hank) Hile, Rosalie (Rhody) Bish Peck, James Hile, Anna Marie Zeitler, and Elizabeth Hile.
In 1949 Deanie married Thomas Lipinski. Thomas died July 12, 2014. Their home on Robinson Street radiated compassionate hospitality for more than sixty years. Everyone was invited in: meter-readers, family, priests, mail carriers, co-workers, Yum-Yums, friends and friends of friends for a home-made meal, artful pie, or the best cookies you ever had, and a cup of tea.
Deanie's life had the threads common to most of our lives: family, marriage, friends, church, career, ageing. With her threads Deanie wove a rich and beautiful tapestry of a life well lived. Her fine sense of beauty and style was evident whether she was setting a table, decorating her home, making her wreaths, planting or arranging flowers, creating the bows that adorned every gift, or choosing her clothes. Her wit and humor made people laugh and feel connected because it was fresh, insightful and real. When she retired from her career as office manager at Mascia-Bauer Orthodontics in Butler, she was heartily celebrated by staff/co-workers who had become like family. Even in her diminished condition with advanced Alzheimer's she endeared herself to her caretakers and fellow residents at Newhaven Court.
Sr. Joan Chittister says "Every death requires that someone change their life". As a memorial to Deanie we could each improve life by imitating her
in some way.
