Robert H. King

Robert H. "Bob" King, 87 of Sarver, formerly of East Brady, PA died July 26, 2012 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. 

Born October 15, 1924 in Phillipston, PA, he was the son of Albert C. and Fonda Mae (Smith) King. 

On January 10, 1948, he married Genevieve L. "Winnie" (Rossman) King, she survives. 

A US Army Veteran, Bob was a Technician Fifth Grade with the 974th Engineer Maintenance Company.  Campaigned at Luzon, and was a recipient of the American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, the Eame Campaign Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. 
He was also a member of the Rimersburg VFW Post 7132 and the American Legion Post 488, Bradys Bend.

Bob was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad for 2 years, Michigan Limestone in Bradys Bend for 2 years, Owned and Operated the Gulf Station in East Brady for 10 years, and worked for Damon-Heppenstal Industries in Bradys Bend for 30 years. 

Bob was a member of the United Methodist Church in East Brady. 

He and Winnie enjoyed camping at Wolfs Camping Resort in Knox, PA where he was a greens-keeper at the golf course.  He enjoyed playing cards; especially Euchre and 500.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Surviving is his wife Genevieve L "Winnie" King of Sarver, PA.  1 Daughter Darlene King Steiner of Freeport, PA.  5 Sons Richard A. King and wife Jeanne of Grafton, VA. Ronald L. King and wife Christine of New Kensington, PA. Robert L. King and wife Deb of East Brady.  David W. King and wife Lynn of Stanley, NC. and Duane S. King and wife Berniece of Baxley, GA. 

1 Sister Dorothy R. Mortimer and husband Laird of East Brady.  3 Brothers Carl Dean King and wife Shirley of East Brady, Donald L. King and wife Peg of Bradys Bend, Richard K. King and wife Ressie of Lyndhurst VA.

He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great Great Grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, and 2 brothers William and Ralph King.
Funeral Services will be held 1pm Saturday July 28, 2012 at the East Brady United Methodist Church with the Rev. Craig Peterson officiating.
