Ruth J. Blatt, 100, of East Brady died Saturday November 16, 2013 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler. 

Born June 28, 1913, Ruth was the daughter of Glenn and Anna M. (Salhot) Allen. 

Ruth married William R. Newsham who preceded her in death, and later married Charles F. Blatt whom also preceded her in death. 

Ruth was a buyer for Erie Dry Goods Company and Trask-Prescot & Richardson Department Store in Erie. 
After retirememt, Ruth worked at Doubet's Jewelry Store, also in Erie. 

Ruth was an avid reader, quilter, and knitter. 

A member of St. Eusebius Roman Catholic Church, she belonged to the former Ladies Guild.  She was also a member of the Brady's Bend Historical Society, The Erie Business and Professional Women's Club and the American Legion Post #402 Auxiliary, East Brady. 

Ruth is survived by 2 daughters Ruth Ann Franz, of Mars and Judith Zboyvski of Erie.  1 Step Daughter Charlotte Jones of Richmond, VA.  1 Daughter in Law Marilyn Newsham of Bradenton, FL. 

She is also survived by 11 Grand Children, 13 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, 1 Son William G. Newsham, 1 Son in Law Edward Franz and 1 grandson in law Dennis Buck. 

A memorial mass for Ruth J. Blatt will be celebrated 10am Saturday November 23, 2013 at St. Eusebius RC Church, East Brady with the Rev. William Kuba officiating. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. of East Brady.
