Salvadore "Sam" Cassesse, 87 of Bradys Bend died Thursday May 21, 2015 at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born September 7, 1927 in Bradys Bend, he was the son of Vito and Maria G. (Mignemi) Cassese.

Sam first married the former Mildred J. Crissman, she preceded him in death on December 16, 1962.  On October 5, 1968, Sam married the former Elizabeth M. "Betty" Kennedy.  She also preceded him in death on October 26, 1998.

A 1947 Graduate of East Brady High School, Sam first was employed by Michigan Limestone from 1947-1954.  Then Elger Company in Ford City from 1954-1963.  He purchased the Rocket Hotel in Bradys Bend and operated it until 1967.  Next he worked at National Storage in Boyers until 1968 and then was employed by the PA Liquor Control Board as the State Store Manager in Chicora until 1979.

A member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend, he belonged to the Altar Rosary Society, the Young at Heart Club and for years worked on the St. Mary's Cemetery Committee. 

A US Veteran, Sam first served during WWII with the Coast Guard.  Later during the Korean War he served as an Airman First Class with the Air Force. His oversees duty was in French Morocco, North Africa.  Sam was a lifemember of both the American Legion Post #488 in Bradys Bend and the VFW Post #7123 in Rimersburg.

Sam enjoyed hunting, was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, a collector of hundreds of hats and always enjoyed the company of numerous good friends.  He will be dearly missed. 

Surviving is 1 son David M. Cassesse and wife Donna of Crystal Lake, Ill.  1 Granddaughter Shelby Ann Cassesse of Crystal Lake.  1 Brother Michael Cassese of Tidioute, PA. 1 sister Mary A. Cassese of Bradys Bend and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Mildred and Betty, his dear friend and companion Marguerite Heginbotham, 4 brothers Hoot, Tony, Popeye and Jim, and 1 sister Carmella Bevcich. 

Friends of Salvadore "Sam" Cassesse will be received 2-4, 6-8pm Tuesday May 26, 2015 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services 707 Kellys Way East Brady, PA 16028

A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 3:30 Tuesday in the Funeral Home.  A Veterans Service will be held at 6:00 Tuesday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am Wednesday May 27, 2015 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend with the Rev. John Butler officiating. 

Committal, Military Honors and Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.

The Cassesse Family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Sam's name to St. Mary's Cemetery 915 State Route 68, East Brady, PA 16028
