Stanley G. Sroka, 77 of Wattersonville (Cowansville) formerly of the DC Metro Area and Pottstown, PA died Tuesday June 30, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Hospice.
Born June 3, 1938 in Pottstown, he was the son of Valentine A. and Mary F. (Krause) Sroka.
On November 17, 1962, Stan married the former Nancy J. Feeney, she survives.
A graduate of the University of Virginia, Stan earned his MBA from George Washington University. He spent his career as a banker retiring as Executive Vice President of Riggs National Bank (now PNC Bank) and was member of the American Banker Association.
Stan honorably served as a Specialist 4 with the US Army.
A member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Stan was involved with the Catholic Youth Organization.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, studying history, was a life member of the NRA and loved spending time with his grandkids.
Stan is survived by his wife Nancy Sroka of Wattersonville, 1 daughter Michele (Josh) Wolf of Indian Shores, FL., 1 son Mark (Patty) Sroka of Woodbine, MD. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren Melissa Wolf, Becca Wolf, Katie Sroka and Zach Wolf.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends of Stanley G. Sroka will be received 2-4, 6-8pm Friday July 3, 2015 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028
A parish prayer service will be held at 3pm in the funeral home. A veterans service will be held at 6pm in the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday July 4, 2015 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bradys Bend with the Rev. John Butler officiating.
Private burial will follow in Wattersonville Methodist Cemetery.
The Sroka family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Stan's name to St. Patrick Church 915 State Route 68 East Brady, PA 16028
