Terry Henry, born on August 1, 1949 passed away after a brief illness on February 16, 2025 leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and passion.
He was born to the late Helen “Maxine” Walters Henry and Henry Christopher “Bud” Henry. He was a loving father to Patrick (Carol) and Brian (Gemma) Henry, and a devoted stepfather to Danielle (Michael) Stitt, and Deanna (Shane) Robinson. His grandchildren, Diana, Cecelia, Sydney, Jordan, Liam, Jax, Gabe, Reed, Cam, and Braya, lovingly called him “Pop Pop” and cherished every moment spent with him.
Terry’s life was enriched by his marriage to Debbie (Kerschbaumer) Henry on February 21st, 2007. He was a beloved brother to Larry (Grace) Henry and Patricia (Rob) Texter, and brother-in-law to the late John (Virginia) Kerschbaumer and David (Robyn) Kerschbaumer, and a son in law to Eleanor “Peg” Kerschbaumer. His extended family of numerous nieces and nephews held a special place in his heart.
A proud graduate of Slippery Rock University (SRU) where he earned a bachelor’s degree in education and was also a member of the SRU football team. Terry’s passion for football and athletics began at East Brady High School, where he excelled in football and basketball. His coaching career was marked by his time at East Brady High School from 1973-1979 and again from 1982-1983, and later at Seneca Valley High School from 1984-1996 holding head football coaching and athletic director positions at both schools. His dedication to the sport earned him inductions into the Seneca Valley’s Hall of Fame in 2013, the Butler County Hall of Fame in 2014, the Minor Pro Football Hall of Fame, Western Pennsylvania in 2016, and the Pennsylvania Scholastic Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 2017. Throughout his coaching career, Terry was more than just a coach; he was a friend and mentor to many who played for him.
His love for traveling, boating with Debbie and the East Brady Redbank Crowd, and spending time with his grandchildren, especially attending their events and watching the boys in their sporting activities, brought him immense joy.
Friends of Terry Henry will be received from 3:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM Thursday, February 20, 2025 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend with Rev. Arnel Tadeo, officiating.
His burial in St. Eusebius Cemetery will be private.
