William H. McClaine, 79 of Sugarcreek Twp, Armstrong Co. died Monday May 18, 2015 at the VNA Hospice in Butler after a long and courageous battle with ALS.
Born December 9. 1935, he was the son of Frank J. and Ada M. (Schotz) McClaine.
A US Army Veteran, Bill served with the 69th Armored Division from Fort Benning, GA. Bill served in Korea from 1959-1961. He received a Sharpshooter Medal, a Marksman Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
A 1953 Graduate of East Brady High School, Bill married the former Erma L. Cohlhepp on May 4, 1963. She preceded him in death.
Bill was employed for 30 years with Penreco in Karns City.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Bradys Bend and he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.
Bill is survived by 1 son Kenneth W. McClaine and wife Lisa of Baldwin and 1 daughter Lori A. Koleck and husband David of Manorville,. 5 grandchildren, Kayla, Kevin and Lucy McClaine, Nicole and Michael Koleck.
He is also survived by 2 brothers, James McClaine of East Brady and Rodney McClaine of Petrolia and 2 sisters Jean Weibel of Queenstown and Kathleen Healy of Seneca, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Erma who died March 3, 2012, 4 brothers, Frank McClaine Jr., Charles McClaine, George McClaine, Ronald McClaine and 1 sister Ruth Libecco.
Friends of William H. McClaine will be received 2-4, 6-8pm Thursday May 21, 2015 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way East Brady, PA 16028.
A Parish Prayer Service will be held at 3:30pm Thursday in the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Friday May 22, 2015 at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend with the Rev. John Butler officiating.
Committal, Military Honors and Burial will follow in St. Eusebius Cemetery.
McClaine family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bill's name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America 1113 Main Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15215
