John T. Olcus, 88, of Kittanning Hollow died Tuesday January 26, 2016 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born October 25, 1927 in Kaylor, he was the son of Joseph C. and Elizabeth J. (Downs) Olcus.

On January 27, 1951, John married the former Mildred Weibel.  She preceded him in death on March 13, 1998.

A veteran of the US Army, John served with the E Troop 72nd Constabulary Squadron.  He was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army Occupation Medal.  

John worked for Michigan Limestone, Pullman Standard and independently drove truck for many years. 

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.  He enjoyed working on the family farm, yard work and visiting relatives and friends. 

John is survived by 1 son Greg and wife Nancy Olcus of Sugarcreek Twp.  3 sisters Bessie and husband Til Chemelli of Kittanning, Sara Young of Grand Haven, MI, Catherine and husband Wilson Downing of Bradys Bend.  1 sister in law Donna Olcus of Ford City and his close friend Patricia Mortimer of Rimersburg.

He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his wife, John was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

A Blessing Service for John T. Olcus will be held at 1PM Friday January 29, 2016 at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc. 707 Kellys Way, East Brady, PA 16028 with the Rev. John Butler of St. Patrick Church, Bradys Bend officiating. 

Private Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
